Our Philosophy

We aim to bridge the gap from where you are to become a complete player. Your path to become a complete player starts with your mental aspect. This is key, in futbol and in life, you need to have strong work-ethic, dedication, and commitment. If you have these key principles then we assure you will improve on the physical, technical, and tactical aspect as well. Each of these aspects have their own identities and we will guide and help you figure them out.

We cannot wait to start this journey with you!

Co-Founder & Lead Trainer

For me, it's not just a game, it is a lifestyle. Futbol will teach you much more than you can ever imagine, on and off the field. In life and just like on the field, there will be situations that will push you to your limits. It is the tough situations that determines what you are made of and how far you are willing to go to overcome challenges.

At 1v1 Training, we are determined to cultivate and shape the youth for specifically these types of challenges: teaching details to allow them to get better, positive/hard work ethic, competitive attitude and most importantly respect and love towards the progress path.

A really cool fact about me is that in my youth I was able to be coached by Michael Varas (currently Head Coach of the U.S Men's National Team  U-20) and Luciano Fusco (currently Assistant Coach of the San Jose Earthquakes first team). What amazing experiences I've had!

Coaching Experience:

  • Burlingame Soccer Club 2010-2013

  • Force North 2013-2015

  • Nueva School 2015-2016

  • Star Academy FC 2017-2022

These small group sessions have helped me become a stronger player technically and physically. The environment is encouraging and pushes me to become better and improve in all aspects. I also feel that while training with small groups, I get more 1 on 1 focus from our trainer.

I would definitely recommend Coach Yvan’s “1v1 Training” program to anyone who is willing to push their limits and better themselves. “1v1” Training makes sure each training session is motivating, intense, and fun.
